Curry vs. Young in points leagues: 39.7 to 32.7 fantasy points a game in 2025-26
Curry gets a narrow lean over Trae Young in points-league rankings on 2025-26 production. Young's per-36 output matched Curry's, so the gap comes down to his minutes, and the lean flips if he returns to about 33 or more.

Curry gets a narrow edge over Young in points leagues
DataBaller leans Curry, at 39.7 fantasy points a game in 2025-26 against Young's 32.7. This uses a standard points-league scoring that DataBaller applied itself: 1 per point, 1.2 per rebound, 1.5 per assist, 3 per steal, 3 per block, −1 per turnover. NBA fantasy points are not stored, so the rankings move if your league scores differently. No draft-position data exists either, so this is a production ranking, not an ADP read.
| Season | Stephen Curry (FP/G) | Trae Young (FP/G) |
|---|---|---|
| 22-23 | 46.8 | 44.6 |
| 23-24 | 40.0 | 45.5 |
| 24-25 | 40.7 | 44.7 |
| 25-26 | 39.7 | 32.7 |
Young is the better per-game scorer when his minutes are normal. From 2023-24 through 2024-25 he beat Curry by 5.5 and 4.0 points a game, on 35.9 and 36.0 minutes against Curry's 32.6 and 32.1. Per 36 minutes the two were level in 2025-26 at 46.2 each, so the gap is almost entirely playing time.
Young's minutes are the problem. Last season he played 15 games, 10 for Atlanta and 5 for Washington, and averaged 25.5 minutes, down from 36.0 the year before. Performance Shift, DataBaller's model, shows his minutes as the largest drop against his own baseline over those 15 games: about 36.0 down to 25.5. His Sustainability Score read says his scoring ran about 1.2 points a game above what his efficiency supports. He is now listed as probable while rehabbing a quad issue. Nothing yet shows his minutes returning to the mid-30s.
Curry's per-game line is steadier, but his games played are not. He played 43 games last season and missed 27 straight from February 3 to April 2. His minutes slid from 34.7 in 2022-23 to 30.9. Scoring Shift projects about 0.6 points a game fewer, and his Sustainability Score has him about 1 point a game above his efficiency baseline. He is listed as questionable with a limited preseason, but he has just signed a two-year extension with the Warriors.
| Curry 2025-26 | Young 2025-26 | Young 2024-25 | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Games | 43 | 15 | 76 |
| Minutes per game | 30.9 | 25.5 | 36.0 |
| Fantasy points per game | 39.7 | 32.7 | 44.7 |
Young has the higher ceiling if the 36-minute role returns, roughly 5 points a game more than Curry's last three seasons. Curry has the better floor and the only recent sample at a stable role. Both come with injury risk, so rank the two close together.
Confidence: Medium. It rests on one season of role data for Young and on both players' injury histories, and the lean flips to Young if his preseason minutes show a return to about 33 or more.
